A rivalry renewed: Stars-Oilers playoff history
Dallas and Edmonton meet in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2003.
Dallas and Edmonton.
My mind immediately envisions those beautiful late 90’s/early 2000’s green Stars sweaters. I hear names like Mike Modano, Ryan Smyth, Ales Hemsky Brenden Morrow and Shawn Horcoff coming out of the amazing Ralph Strangis’ mouth.
And how about the goaltending? Ed Belfour, Andy Moog, Marty Turco, Tommy Salo and Curtis Joseph!
And finally, I see blood on the ice.
For the first time since 2003, the Stars and Oilers meet in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. And what better way to renew this rivalry than in the 2024 Western Conference Final with a chance to go to the Stanley Cup?
Before we get into Edmonton over the next day or so, let’s first look at the playoff history between these clubs.
